Aleksandrs ?ekulajevs: Milan-target Valletta bound

A report in Italian website calcionews24.com claims that Latvian striker Aleksandrs ?ekulajevs, who is set to be unveiled as a new player of Valletta FC, was attracting the interest of Italian giants AC Milan.

?ekulajevs has an impressive goal-scoring record scoring 46 goals in 35 matches for FC Narva Trans in Estonia last year. In 2007, he scored 51 goals in 30 matches for FK Auda Riga in Latvia.

He started his career with FK Riga before moving to FK Auda. He then played for FK-Nachod Destne in the Czech Republic, FK Jurmala in Latvia and FC Víkingur Ólafsvík in Iceland.

The deal with Valletta was sealed by the club’s director general Antonio Esposito and the player’s agents Stefano Quadri and Alessio Pelosi from Bola Management.

The signing of the 26-year old striker will continue to strengthen the Valletta squad which already includes another eight foreigners, namely English goalkeeper Matthew Towns, Saidou Mady Panandetiguiri and Ousseni Zongo from Burkina Faso, Brazilians Denni Rocha dos Santos, William Barbosa da Silva, Nigerian striker Alfred Effiong, Argentine midfielder Nahuel Pulitano Jimenez and Slovenian striker Miha Robic.
