Dingli Swallows collected three precious points in the battle against relegation when they defeated St. George’s 2-0 in one of the two BOV First Division matches at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Chris Azzopardi notched a brace for the Swallows.

In another match, Naxxar Lions defeated Zejtun Corinthians 2-1. This was the second successive defeat for the Corinthians.

Darren Falzon put Naxxar ahead and Kenneth Abela equalised. However Andre Rocha da Silva converted a penalty to hand the Lions the three points.

Rabat lead the way with 35 points, followed by Melita on 33, Piet&agravel 32, Zejtun 30, St. Andrews 24, Birzebbuga and Naxxar 23, Vittoriosa 21, Lija 19, Dingli 18, St. Patrick 15 and St. George’s 13.
