For the third successive year, Footy 4 U will be organising their Summer Academy for boys/girls aged 7-17. The sessions this year will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am till 10:30am, at Luxol Sports Club, Pembroke. The Summer Academy will kick off on Monday 2nd July and end Friday 31st August.

For parents who work, the school will be offering early drop off at no extra charge (8:00am). Another initiative this summer is the introduction to a specialised goal keeper’s session, so goal keepers can now apply and benefit with appropriate training for their development as goal keepers.

And, following last year’s successful Premier Skills/WBA Professional Opportunities Course, the school is delighted to announce that Premier Skills Directors Roger and Sam Wilkinson, have accepted their invitation back to Malta. This will be held between Monday 16th to Friday 20th July, with sessions being held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9am till 12pm, with assessment matches to be organised at the weekend or on a weekday evening.

From this Professional Opportunities Course, 3 Footy 4 U players had attracted the eyes of Mike Scott, WBA Head of Education and Welfare and staff member present in Malta – these being Paul Lapira (Valletta FC), Sasha Clements and Matthew Guillaumier (Luxol St Andrews FC), and they were invited up for a trial at the Premier League club. Some other boys who attended the camp are being monitored by WBA for further developments.

During the week, Premier Skills founder Roger Wilkinson will be delivering Coach Education Courses Level 1 and Level 2 for our local coaches. Coaches who attended last year’s Level 1 course can attend the Level 1 again for FREE! (We will be announcing course details, fees and prices shortly).

The price for the FULL summer programme is €175 (inc 7 weeks F4U training, the Premier Skills/WBA Training Camp, and a full Nike F4U kit). The Premier Skills/WBA Camp alone is €80 for the week.

A Parents Meeting will be held 2/3 weeks prior to the commencement of the Summer Academy Programme. An end of year official presentation/dinner night will also take place in the 1st week of September.
