Rabat Ajax placed fifth in the AME Cup as they came from behind to defeat Tarxien Rainbows 2-1.
With a direct freekick on 31 minutes, Brandon Manzonelli put the Rainbows ahead but fourteen minutes in the second half, Manuel Moral Fuster equalised. Adam Smeir notched the winner ten minutes later.
In another match, Hamrun Spartans beat Qormi 4-3 to finish seventh.
Leighton Grech put Qormi ahead on the 37th minute but Massimo Grima levelled matters for Hamrun one minute later. However two goals by Abubaker Bello Osagie on the 44th and Joseph Chetcuti on the 45th gave Stephen Azzopardi’s side a two-goal lead.
Nikolay Bozhov reduced the gap for the Spartans three minutes in the second half and Angel Yoshev equalised on the 67th minute. Ryan Spiteri notched the winner for Hamrun on 71 minutes.
On Sunday, Birkirkara take on Sliema Wanderers in the final, kick-off at 20:30 while at 18:30, Balzan face Mosta in the final for third place.
