Mosta continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Burkina Faso midfielder/striker Ousseni Zongo. Zongo played for champions Valletta last season but was not retained by the club this summer.
After playing in his home-town Ouagadougou, Zongo moved to Belgium to join Anderlecht. He then joined Wacker Tirol in Austria and later SV Worgl. In January 2006, he joined Msida St. Joseph but after eighteen months, he moved to Portugal to play for UD Leirria and after a short spell with Gil Vicente, he played for Arouca and C.D. Tondela, also in Portugal before moving back to Malta.
This summer, the Blues signed Justin Haber, Luke Dimech, Daniel Bogdanovic, Ferdinando Apap, Manolito Micallef, Steve Bezzina, Ryan Grech, Adrian Farrugia, Daniel Mitev, Carlos Campagnoli and Emmanuel Okafor Ezeth.
Zongo may be able to make his debut for Mosta in next Sunday’s clash with Valletta.
