Hibernians, Valletta hope to extend unbeaten record

Hibernians and Valletta will be aiming for a third successive win on Saturday in the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

In the first game, the Paolites take on newly-promoted Melita.

Hibs beat Mosta 3-2 and Qormi 4-2 in the first two matches. Melita, on the other hand, suffered a 0-4 defeat to Birkirkara in the opening match and then were held in a 3-3 draw by Rabat Ajax last week.

Hibernians, who lost Malta international defender Edward Herrera to Birkirkara, are still unable to field their best formation due to the absence of Jean Paul Farrugia. Melita coach Martin Gregory, on the other hand, has two new foreigners at his disposal.

Meanwhile in the second match, champions Valletta face Qormi.

The Citizens beat Tarxien Rainbows 1-0 and Mosta 3-1. Qormi, on the other hand, defeated Rabat Ajax 1-0 but lost 4-2 to Hibernians.

Michael Mifsud is struggling to recover from a slight injury for Valletta. Triston Caruana returns with Qormi for another one-year loan from Hibernians.
