Tarxien, Balzan target first win

Tarxien Rainbows and Balzan will be aiming for their first win on Monday as they cross swords in one of the two matches in programme at the National Stadium.

The Rainbows suffered narrow defeats to Valletta and Sliema Wanderers, holding Hamrun Spartans in a 1-1 draw in their last outing. Balzan, on the other hand, drew 2-2 with Hamrun before losing to Birkirkara and Floriana.

Tarxien welcome back Danilo Meira Santos but Luiz Romulo de Castro is ruled out injured. Renato Garcia Conceicao returns for Balzan after serving a two-match ban.

In the second match, Hamrun Spartans take on Mosta.

After losing to Hibernians and Valletta, Mosta collected their first three points in a 2-0 win over Sliema. Hamrun, on the other hand, earned three points in draws with Balzan, Floriana and Tarxien.

For Mosta, Alex Cini is ruled out injured while Ryan Grech is suspended. Goalkeeper Andrea Cassar and defender Roderick Fenech are ruled out through suspension for the Spartans.
