Birkirkara, one of three teams with maximum points after four matches, will be aiming at extending their hundred per cent record on Saturday as they take on Sliema Wanderers in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
In the first game, Floriana hope to return to winning ways as they take on Rabat Ajax.
The Greens earned two points in draws with Sliema and Hamrun and defeated Balzan but in their last outing, they lost 0-3 to Birkirkara. Rabat, on the other hand, collected just one point from four matches – a draw with Melita, losing to Qormi, Birkirkara and Hibernians.
Nerijus Astrauskas is still ruled out through suspension while goalkeeper Sean Mintoff is recovering from an injury he sustained in the last game against Hibernians. Floriana, on the other hand, should be in full strength apart from Joseph Borg who is yet to make his first appearance this season.
Meanwhile in the second match, Birkirkara chase their fifth successive win in the game against Sliema Wanderers.
Birkirkara defeated Melita, Balzan, Rabat and Floriana in the first four games, scoring eleven goals and suffering just one in the process.
Sliema, on the other hand, earned four points in the first two matches thanks to a draw with Floriana and a dramatic win over Tarxien but then lost to Mosta and Qormi in the last two games.
The Blues may have two new players in squad – midfielders Marlon Briffa and Argentine Ariel Laudisi. Birkirkara, on the other hand, hope to have Brazilian striker Joselito dos Reis back in the starting line-up.
