Citizens aim at returning to winning ways

Leaders Valletta will be aiming at returning to winning ways on Friday as they take on Balzan in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The Citizens, who lead the table with 23 points, four ahead of second-placed Birkirkara, were held in a 1-1 draw by Rabat Ajax last week.

Balzan are currently eighth on 11 points. They are coming from four positive results, claiming ten points in three wins and a draw with Mosta last week.

Matthew Mendy, Jamie Pace and Dylan Grima return after serving a one-match ban but Rennie Forace and Elton Alexandre da Silva are suspended.

Meanwhile in the first match, Melita take on Mosta.

The Amateurs are second from bottom on four points. They suffered the seventh defeat in nine matches last week, losing 0-4 to Sliema Wanderers.

Mosta, on the other hand, are joint-third on 16 points together with Sliema and Hibernians. They were held in a goalless draw by Balzan last week.

Luke Dimech is ruled out for Mosta as he serves a one-match ban.
