Maraaxlokk registered a most comfortable 5-1 win over Mqabba in one of the matches from the BOV First Division on Friday.
Andre Grabowski put the Southseasiders ahead just before half-time and an own goal early in the second half made it 2-0. Abeeb Abiodun Williams reduced the gap foq Mqabba but another goal by Grabowski and a brace by Douglas da Silva Silveira gave Louis Cutajar’s side a comfortable win.
Meanwhile Naxxar Lions beat Birzebbuga St. Peter’s by the odd goal in five.
Michael Camilleri put Birzebbuga ahead mid-way through the first half but Anthony Ewurum equalised a couple of minutes later.
Andre Rocha da Silva made it 2-1 for Naxxar on 69 minutes. Three minutes from time Zoran Vukovic restored equilibrium for Birzebbuga but Gilbert Camilleri notched the winner for the Lions.
St. Andrews lead the way with 15 points, followed by Naxxar on 14, Lija and Marsaxlokk 13, Pietà 11, Vittoriosa 10, Zejtun 9, Gudja 8, Gzira 5, Birzebbuga and Dingli 3 and Mqabba 2.
