San Gwann and Fgura United joined Pembroke Athleta in second place in the BOV Second Division, five points behind leaders Zebbug Rangers.
San Gwann defeated Pembroke 3-2 at the Charles Abela Stadium to inflict the first defeat on Jacques Scerri’s side. Fgura, on the other hand, beat Zurrieq 1-0 at the same venue.
St. George’s maintained their unbeaten run with a sixth draw in nine matches, this time 1-1 with Kirkop United at the Sirens Stadium.
Msida St. Joseph, on the other hand, returned to winning ways, beating St. Venera Lightnings 5-1.
At the Centenary Stadium, Siggiewi beat Mgarr United 4-1 while St. Patrick defeated Mellieha 2-0.
On Friday, leaders Zebbug Rangers only earned a point in a goalless draw with Gharghur at the Luxol Stadium but still managed to extend the lead to five points.
Zebbug lead the way with 21 points, followed by San Gwann, Pembroke and Fgura on 16, St. George’s and Msida 15, St. Patrick and Siggiewi 11, Zurrieq 10, Kirkop 9, Gharghur 8, Mellieha 7, St. Venera 6 and Mgarr 5.
