Malta international striker Ylenia Carabott scored six goals as Hibernians defeated Tarxien Rainbows 8-1 in a match from the BOV Women’s First Division at the on Tuesday.
The Paolites forged ahead after just 23 seconds through Carabott. Dionne Tonna doubled the score on the 20th and another three goals by Ylenia Carabott put them five goals ahead before Francesca Chircop scored a sixth goal five minutes from the end of the first half. Francesca Cauchi pulled one back for Tarxien on 56 minutes – the first goal for the Rainbows in the top division – but two goals by Carabott on 66 and 80 minutes sealed the issue for Hibernians.

At the Charles Abela Stadium, Mosta struggled much more than expected to beat Gozo 2-0.
The Gozitans controlled their opponents well during the first half but Mosta finally managed to break the deadlock on 65 minutes thanks to Dorianne Theuma. Deep into stoppage time, Rachel Nolan doubled the score for the Blues.

After scoring eight in the previous game, Birkirkara scored another five goals in a comfortable win over Mgarr United at the Mgarr Ground.
The Stripes were a superior side but the Mgarr rear-guard led by goalkeeper M’Claire Tabone did their best to limit the damages. Martina Cilia put Birkirkara ahead on the 20th and three minutes later, Gabriella Zahra doubled the score. Rachel Cuschieri made it 3-0 eight minutes from the end of the first half. Cuschieri increased the lead on 65 minutes and Zahra added another ten minutes from time. Birkirkara were also unlucky to hit the posts twice.

Pembroke Athleta claimed another three important points in a 2-0 win over Hamrun Spartans at the Pembroke Ground.
Hamrun defended well especially during the first half and after the break, they were less cautious and tried to attack with the best opportunity falling at the feet of Amanda Atkins with a direct freekick. Martina Borg hit the posts twice for Pembroke, who had the lion’s share in ball possession, until they finally managed to break the deadlock through Amber Grech on 75 minutes. Three minutes later, Leanne Micallef sealed the issue with a second goal for Ricky Pace’s side.

Meanwhile in the BOV Women’s Second Division, leaders Raiders (Luxol) maintained a perfect record with a 3-0 win over second-placed Kirkop United at the Zebbug Ground.
Davinia Pomroy gave Raiders an early lead and Nora Agliano doubled the score on 21 minutes. Kirkop missed a penalty through Krystle Attard on 62 minutes but they managed to reduce the arrears thanks to a goal by Rodienne Zerafa on 76 minutes.
