Marsaxlokk and Vittoriosa Stars earned a point each as they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday. Marsaxlokk therefore join Gudja United in third place, one point behind Naxxar Lions.

Lydon Micallef put Vittoriosa ahead on 21 minutes but on 35 minutes, Marsaxlokk were awarded a penalty and Vittoriosa goalkeeper Jean Matthias Vella was sent off. From the penalty spot, Andre Grabowski converted. Four minutes later, Terrence Farrugia was sent off for Marsaxlokk.

Vittoriosa regained the lead five minutes in the second half thanks to Marcelo Pereira. Adam Spiteri was also sent off for the Stars on the 70th minute and just before the final whistle, Marsaxlokk notched the equaliser thanks to Andre Grabowski.

In the second match, Lija Athletic moved back on top thanks to a 2-0 win over Pieta Hotspurs.

Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on 6 minutes and Ige Abdullahi Adeshina doubled the score on the 20th.

Lija lead the way with 20 points, followed by Naxxar on 19, Marsaxlokk and Gudja on 18, Pietà 17, St. Andrews 16, Zejtun, Vittoriosa 15, Gzira 11, Dingli 8, Birzebbuga 4 and Mqabba 3.
