Daniel Bogdanovic joins Valletta

Valletta continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Malta international striker Daniel Bogdanovic. He signed a two and a half year deal with the Citizens.

Earlier this month, Bogdanovic was released by Mosta FC, just five months after joining the Blues following a two-and-a-half years in England.

After making his Premier League debut with Sliema Wanderers in season 2000/01, Daniel Bogdanovic had a short spell with Vasas SC in Hungary the following season but had to return to Malta, joining Naxxar Lions He then moved to Valletta. In 2003, Bogdanovic joined Cherno More Varna in Bulgaria but returned Malta to join Sliema Wanderers and eventually Marsaxlokk He started season 2004/05 with Marsaxlokk but was transferred to Ghajnsielem in Autumn.

In summer 2005, Bogdanovic signed for Sliema but was back with Marsaxlokk the following summer. He joined Cisco Roma in Italy in 2007 and after one season, he moved to Lokomotiv Sofia where he spent the first part of the season before moving to Barnsley in the January 2008 transfer window.

Bogdanovic signed for Sheffield United in summer 2010 but following the Blades’ relegation to League One, he joined Blackpool the following season. In January, he moved to Rochdale for a four-week loan, ending the season at Notts County.

Bogdanovic is the second Mosta player to join Valletta after Luke Dimech.

Meanwhile Valletta loaned Kurt Magro to Mosta until the end of the season. On the other hand, Ian Zammit is set to join Sliema Wanderers.
