The Malta Futsal national team lost the two games in Group B of the Preliminary Round of the UEFA Futsal EURO which was held in Malta between the 23 and 26 January at the Hibernians Pavilion.
In the first game, on Wednesday, Malta lost 0-9 to Georgia. Georgia were then held in a 5-5 draw by Moldova on Thursday but since the latter only managed to beat Malta 4-1 on Saturday, Georgia move on to the next round thanks to a better goal-difference.
Daniel Brincat scored the only goal for Malta in the 1-4 defeat to Moldova.
The players selected by coach Kevin Mifsud for the tournament were Christian Cassar, Dylan Musu, Jovica Milijic, Kurt Bartolo, Clint Cope, Reuben Grech, Nicola Del Re, Cedric Sciberras, Shawn Vella, Andy Mangion, Xavier Saliba, Giancarlo Sammut, Pio Sciriha and Daniel Brincat.
