The BOV Third Division clash between two of the challengers for promotion, Sirens and Marsa, at the Sirens Stadium was abandoned on the 37th minute following a brawl on the pitch between the two sets of players and clashes on the stands which left referee Martin Borg no option other than to abandon the game.

The score was 1-1 as Carlo Leonardi had put Sirens ahead and Lee Cumbo equalised for Marsa.

Meanwhile Marsaskala and Senglea Athletic shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in another big match from Division 3 while Xghajra Tornados defeated Qrendi 6-0.

Santa Lucia registered a fine 4-0 win over Swieqi United while Mtarfa beat Kalkara 3-1. Ghaxaq and Ta’ Xbiex earned a point each in a goalless draw. Attard and Luqa S. Andrew’s shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Mdina lead the way with 33 points, followed by Senglea and Marsaskala on 32, Marsa, Xghajra and Sirens 31, Attard 24, Mtarfa 21, Santa Lucia 15, Ghaxaq and Swieqi 14, Kalkara 13, Qrendi 9, Ta’ Xbiex 7 and Luqa 6.
