Vittoriosa Stars joined Marsaxlokk in third place in the BOV First Division as they defeated Gudja United 2-1 on Sunday.

Gary Muir put the Stars ahead on 22 minutes and seventeen minutes in the second half, Lydon Micallef doubled the score. Peter Paul Sammut pulled one back eight minutes from time.

Naxxar Lions returned in second place thanks to a comfortable 6-0 win over Dingli Swallows.

Lija lead the way with 26 points, followed by Naxxar on 25, Vittoriosa and Marsaxlokk on 24, Pietà 23, St. Andrews 21, Gudja 19, Zejtun 17, Gzira 15, Dingli and Birzebbuga 8 and Mqabba 4.
