Hibernians will be all out to claim the three points on Sunday as they take on Valletta in the BOV Premier League’s final match.
Following a narrow win over Tarxien Rainbows on Saturday, the Stripes regained a three point lead on top of the table but a Hibernians win would put them on level points and only a decider would determine the champion for season 2012/13.
Any other result would hand Birkirkara the fourth championship in the history of the club.
Hibernians won five of the last six matches, defeating Mosta 6-0 last week. Valletta, on the other hand, lost 0-1 to Birkirkara last week.
After beating them 3-1 to claim the BOV Super Cup, Valletta went on to win the two clashes in the first phase 1-0 and 4-1 but in the Championship Pool, Hibernians bounced back with a 4-2 win.
In case of Hibernians win, the Championship Decider would be played on Saturday 11th May at the National Stadium, kick-off at 17:00. In case of a draw or a defeat on Sunday, Birkirkara will be presented with the cup at an event in front of the club’s premises at 21:00.
