A goal on the 90th minute by Isabelle Mazzitelli gave Birkirkara a narrow win over Mosta in a decisive game for the championship in the BOV Women’s League at the Charles Abela Stadium on Tuesday.

This was the fifth title for the Stripes in seven years.

In another match from the Championship Pool, Hibernians defeated Gozo 6-2.

In the Relegation Pool, Mgarr United registered a 9-0 win over Hamrun Spartans while Pembroke Athleta defeated Tarxien Rainbows 7-1.

In the final table, Birkirkara ended their commitments on 47 points, followed by Mosta on 44, Hibernians 43 and Gozo 23. In the Relegation Pool, Mgarr collected 31 points, followed by Pembroke on 26, Tarxien 8 and Hamrun 4.
