Euro Cup friendly tournament gets underway on Monday

Euro-Challenge-CupAfter resuming training a week ago or even before, champions Birkirkara, FA Trophy winners and runners-up Hibernians, Valletta and Sliema Wanderers continue their preparation ahead of next month’s commitments in the UEFA competitions with the Euro Cup.

The tournament is no longer an official competition but will still provide clubs a good test ahead of their European commitments.

On Monday, Birkirkara take on Sliema Wanderers while Hibernians face Valletta on Tuesday.

Matches are all scheduled at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 20:00.

With national team players still enjoying a well-deserved rest, the four teams are expected to make wide use of their younger players apart from new foreigners who are currently on trial.

Friday 21 June
20:00 Hibernians vs Sliema W.

Saturday 22 June
20:00 Birkirkara vs Valletta

Tuesday 25 June
20:00 Sliema W. vs Valletta

Wednesday 26 June
20:00 Birkirkara vs Hibernians

Tickets for this match can be bought from the ticket booth before the match and cost €6 for adults, €4 for Kartanzjan holders and €1 for children under the 12 years of age. Electronic cards valid for this match are the Blue cards and the Blue White cards of the four clubs.
