Mosta defeated neighbours and rivals Naxxar Lions 2-1 in a match from Group A of the AME Cup on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Naxxar managed to break the deadlock thanks to Andre Rocha da Silva on 69 minutes. Tyrone Farrugia equalised on the 80th and one minute from time, Sorin Vircjk notched the winner.

Balzan defeated Tarxien Rainbows 4-0 in the second game.
Jose Luis Armario Negrin put Balzan ahead on the 2nd minute and Erjon Beu doubled the score three minutes later. Lydon Micallef made it 3-0 on the 14th and Negrin sealed the issue with another goal on the 25th.
Mosta lead the way with six points followed by Balzan in five, Naxxar one and Tarxien zero.
On Saturday, Balzan take on Mosta and Naxxar Lions face Tarxien Rainbows.
Meanwhile in Group B, Floriana take on Rabat Ajax while Qormi face Vittoriosa Stars on Friday.
