Andrei Agius was a key member of the team which enabled US Latina to gain promotion from the Lega Pro Prima Divisione to the Serie B. However although he was still under contract with the club, Agius had to seek a new club as he was not in the plans of new Latina coach Gaetano Auteri.

The Malta international defender played for FK Zemun in Serbia before moving to Italy where he played for Sporting Mascalucia, Martina Franca, Messina, Igea Virtus, Cassino and Melfi apart from a short spell with Birkirkara in the latter part of season 2010/11.

Meanwhile in the United States, Etienne Barbara joined Tampa Bay Rowdies after the club acquired the 2011 North American Soccer League Most Valuable Player in a trade with Minnesota United FC in exchange for Rowdies forward Mike Ambersley.

Etienne Barbara made his Premier League debut with Floriana before joining Marsaxlokk mid-way through season 2002/03. Two years later, he joined Birkirkara and in summer 2007, he moved to Sliema Wanderers. He spent one season in Germany with SC Verl before joining Hibernians in season 2009/10. Barbara joined the Carolina RailHawks in 2010 and in his first NASL season, he was voted as the 2011 NASL MVP after he scored a league-high 20 goals and had eight assists for the RailHawks. With his help, Carolina clinched the NASL regular season title in 2011.

Due to his prolific season, he would follow Carolina head coach Martin Rennie to Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps but after an unsuccesful spell, Barbara signed for Minnesota United FC on January 23, 2013. Since his arrival, he has scored two goals and has also been named the NASL Player of the Week in Week 5.
