Narrow defeat for Women's Under-19 side

women-u19-malta-nireland130830The Malta Women’s Under-19 national team lost 1-2 to Northern Ireland in the second of two friendly matches at the MFA Training Grounds.

Moya Feehan put the visitors ahead on 58 minutes thanks to a penalty and three minutes later, Rebekah McMullan doubled the score. The locals pulled one back on 79 minutes thanks to a Jade Flask penalty.

Next month, Malta travels to Serbia to take part in a UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship mini-tournament where Mark Gatt’s side will face Bosnia Herzegovina and the Netherlands apart from the hosts.
