After suffering an unlucky 2-0 defeat to Poland in their first outing, the Malta Under-21 side lost 4-0 to Turkey in another match from Group 7 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium in Istanbul on Thursday.
Ömer Ali Şahiner put Turkey ahead on 26 minutes. Ömer Ali Şahiner doubled the score five minutes from the end of the first half and four minutes later, Kerim Koyunlu made it 3-0. Enes Ünal sealed the issue with a fourth goal on 72 minutes.
The team will be in action once again on Tuesday against Greece at the Municipal Stadium in Peristeri, kick-off at 17:30 CET.
