BOV Division 1: Pietà, Gzira register first wins

bov-first-division-2013-2014Pietà Hotspurs and Gzira United registered their first wins in the BOV First Division.

The Hotspurs bear Msida St. Joseph 3-1. Raphael Alain Kooh Sohna put Pietà ahead one minute from the end of the first half. Daniele De Luca equalised on 56 minutes but Jurgen Pisani made it 2-1 on 72 minutes. Ten minutes later, Raphael Alain Kooh Sohna sealed the issue with the third goal.

In another match, Gzira United defeated Zurrieq 1-0.

Simon Shead scored the all-important goal on 12 minutes.

Lija and Melita lead the way with 6 points, followed by Pietà on 5, Gzira, St. Andrews and Zurrieq 4, Birzebbuga 3, Zejtun, St. George’s, Msida and Zebbug 1, Gudja 0 and Hamrun -7.
