Forty-two teams will be aiming for a place in the third round of the U*BET FA Trophy as the knock-out competition takes centre stage this weekend with five matches on Friday, seven matches on Saturday and eight on Sunday.

The first two rounds were reserved for clubs from the BOV Third Division and from the Gozo Football Association. Seven Gozitan clubs reached this stage, namely Victoria Hotspurs, Kercem Ajax, Xaghra United, Oratory Youths, SK Victoria Wanderers and Xewkija Tigers – the only GFA First Division team to be eliminated being Munxar Falcons. On the other hand, Sirens, Mgarr United, Swieqi United, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Ta’ Xbiex are the only survivors from the BOV Third Division, apart from Marsaxlokk, who at the time of the draw were considered as a club from the BOV First Division.
