San Gwann and Zabbar St. Patrick both failed to move back in second place as they were held in draws in the two BOV Second Division matches in programme on Monday.
San Gwann and Senglea Athletic shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Timmy Thomas converted a penalty on 17 minutes to put Senglea ahead but goals by Alan Borg and Bruno Ferraz do Amaral on 21 and 45 minutes turned the score in San Gwann’s favour. Timmy Thomas equalised ten minutes in the second half and Nigerian striker Augustine James Obaje made it 3-2 for Senglea on 68 minutes. However Kurt Zahra restored equilibrium a minute later.
In another match, Zabbar St. Patrick were held in a 1-1 draw by Mqabba.
Didier Tayou put Mqabba ahead six minutes from the end of the first half with Jean Claude Cesare equalising seven minutes from time.
Pembroke Athleta lead the way with 18 points, followed by Fgura on 16, San Gwann and Zabbar 15, Mellieha and Mqabba 14, Gharghur 12, Senglea 10, Mdina and Kirkop 8, Marsa 6, Siggiewi 5, Marsaskala and Dingli 4.
