Under-21 side loses 5-0 in Malmö

UEFA Under-21The Malta Under-21 side continued to disappoint in Group 7 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers, losing 5-0 to Sweden at the Malmö New Stadium on Tuesday.

This was the the sixth defeat in as many matches but what worries most is the number of goals suffered – twenty-five – for an average of more than four goals per game.

John Guidetti put Sweden ahead on the 11th minute. Viktor Claesson doubled the score on the 20th and seven minutes later, Guidetti, who is on the books of Manchester City scored the third goal. Branimir Hrgota made it 4-0 on 34 minutes.

Christoffer Nyman sealed the issue with a fifth goal on 69 minutes.

Malta plays the next game on March 5, hosting Sweden.
