Following the 0-2 defeat to Balzan on Saturday, Danilo Doncic is no longer the coach of Mosta FC after the two parties agreed to have the contract terminated. He will be replaced by Enrico Piccioni who was the club’s technical director.
Doncic was appointed Mosta coach in February, replacing Steve D’Amato, leading them in the Championship Pool. This summer, the club set a top-six finish as its first objective, strengthening the squad with the signing of around twenty foreign players. In fact, Mosta used sixteen foreign players in the BOV Premier League and the U*BET FA Trophy matches.
Mosta collected 22 points from sixteen matches and are currently fifth, one ahead of Naxxar Lions and Floriana.
Piccioni joined Mosta this summer as technical director. The former Cremonese player coached several clubs in the lower divisions in Italy and Bulgarian clubs Botev Plovdiv and PFK Sumen.
