Rabat A. vs Vittoriosa S., kick-off 14:00 at Centenary Stadium
Former Hibernians captain Mario Muscat is set to make his debut for Vittoriosa as Oliver Spiteri’s side targets three points from this clash in their bid to climb out of the danger zone. The Stars lost the last two matches against Valletta and Sliema but a win over Rabat would mean that they would move twelve points ahead of the Magpies. Apart from Muscat, Vittoriosa signed two Italian players on the last day of the transfer window but they are not expected to be in squad on Saturday.

Rabat have now gone twelve matches without a win, losing heavily to Tarxien and Valletta in their last two outings. To make matters worse, Dani Pelaez and Adam Smeir are ruled out injured. Aidan Azzopardi will be back after serving a two-match ban.

In the first round, Vittoriosa defeated Rabat 1-0.

Balzan vs Tarxien R., kick-off 16:15 at Centenary Stadium
This clash is a must-win for Balzan as it would put them temporarily in sixth place, one point ahead of Naxxar before the latter take on neighbours Mosta on Sunday. Balzan won four of the last five matches, defeating Naxxar 1-0 in a direct clash on Monday.

Tarxien lost three of the last four matches and are keen to return to winning ways as they are currently fourth from bottom. Demba Toure will be making his debut after joining the club in exchange for Ronaille Calheira Seara. Carlo Mamo will be back after serving a suspension.

In the first round, Tarxien defeated Balzan 3-1.
