The January transfer window closes on Friday evening at 19:00. The last opportunity for clubs to strengthen their squads ahead of the final stages of their league campaign.
A shock transfer was the loan deal which takes Hibernians captain Mario Muscat to Vittoriosa Stars until the end of the season. Muscat therefore leaves his Paolites after two decades as the Hibs number one goalkeeper.
Vittoriosa have also been strengthened with the signing of Italian defender Leonardo Torri from Livorno.
Valletta were active on the foreign market with the signing of Georgian duo Nukri Revishvili – a goalkeeper and Irakli Maisuradze – a midfielder. The Citizens, who earlier this month, released Nigerian midfielder Raimi Bakare who has now joined Naxxar Lions, could complete the signing of Nigerian striker Abayomi Owonikoko Seun, who also holds a Georgian passport together with Brazilian striker ALan da Silva Souza and Moldovan midfielder. On the other hand, Ian Zammit will join Mosta on loan until the end of the season.
Mosta defender Kane Farrugia returns with his former club Sliema Wanderers on loan until the end of the season. They signed two new foreign players – Antonio Carrozza and Tukauma Takeda.
Qormi secured the services of Mohammed Bance from Burkina Faso.
Floriana secured the services of Nigerian striker John Roland Emeka from St. George’s.
