The Malta Under-17 side defeated San Marino 3-1 in the third and final match from Group B of the Torneo Roma Caput Mundi which is being played in the region of Lazio.

The team led by Sergio Soldano therefore finished second with six points behind Italy (Lega Nazionale Dilettanti) who reached the final after claiming maximum points from the three matches played.

Joseph Mbong scored two of the goals with Chievo midfielder Conor Borg adding another.
