Dorianne Theuma is BOV Player of the Month for February

BOV-FEM-POM-Feb2014-Dorianne-TheumaHibernians’ midfielder Dorianne Theuma is the BOV Female player of the Month for February 2014. This is the second time that Theuma has won this individual award. She was the first ever girl to win the BOV Female Player of the Month award when it was instituted during the 2012/13 football season.

With Hibernians trailing Mgarr 1-0, Theuma spurred her team and scored the equalizer, which turned the tide of the game for a 3-1 victory. Her generous style of play was in plain evidence in Hibernians 8-0 demolition of Pembroke where she provided scoring passes to her team-mates in the game that saw them take sole leadership in the BOV Women’s First Division League.

Theuma’s presence was also felt in the National Team’s World Cup Qualifying match against Serbia. A fierce drive from outside the area was tipped over by the Serbian goalkeeper. Dorianne also provided a golden opportunity where her through-ball put striker Rachel Cuschieri clean through in front of the Serbian keeper, only to fire wide.

Joseph Grech, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s Paola Branch presented the BOV Female Player of the Month to Dorianne Theuma.
