Double for Birkirkara Under-15

u15ko-bkara-sliema140331APS Bank League Under-15 Section B winners Birkirkara claimed the double after defeating Sliema Wanderers 1-0 in the final of the Under-15 Knock-Out on Monday. The Under-15 Knock-Out final brought to an end for the Under-15 competitions.

Pietà Hotspurs won Section A ahead of Sliema Wanderers with St. Andrews and Qormi being relegated to Section B. In Section B, Floriana finished second behind winners Birkirkara and therefore secured promotion to Section A. Balzan and Mellieha were relegated to Section C.

Lija/Iklin and Mgarr United won Sections C1 and C2 respectively but ironically failed to get promoted as Section C1 runners-up Mqabba and Section C2 runners-up Rabat Ajax finished second and first respectively in the Promotion Play-Offs.

In the APS Bank Under-17 League Section B, Balzan emerged as winners after beating Floriana in a direct clash during the weekend. The two teams will therefore play in Section A next season. Msida St. Joseph and Zejtun Corinthians were relegated to Section C.

Section C1 winners Rabat Ajax and Section C2 winners Mellieha also failed to secure promotion as Section C1 runners-up Naxxar Lions and Section C2 runners-up Zebbug Rangers took the two promotion spots in the Promotion Play-Offs.

Next weekend, the last matches from the APS Bank Under-17 League Section A will be played. Youth FA competitions will then take a long break due to the UEFA Under-17 Championship finals and resume on May 25 with the quarter-finals of the Under-17 Knock-Out. The final is scheduled for June 8.
