Malta girls aim at regaining lost pride

women-malta-serbia140213Malta plays its fifth match from Group 3 of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying round as the women’s national team hosts Iceland at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

The girls will be eager to bounce back after the 11-0 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday. In the first three games, Malta lost 0-2 in Israel before losing 0-5 to Denmark and 0-3 to Serbia in two home matches.

Thursday’s test will be another difficult one as Iceland managed to beat Serbia 2-1 and Israel 1-0 in two games away from home after losing 0-2 to Switzerland in their first outing.
