Valletta claimed positive results in the Mediterranean Cup in Tunisia which was held towards the end of last month. The Citizens participated in three categories.

In the Under-17 category, Valletta finished in third place after they lost the first match against SS 2-0. They won the second match against A.S.Z.S 3-0 to advance to the semi final but lost 4-2 after the penalty shoot-out. In the final for third and fourth place, they defeated T.H.S. 2-0.

The Under-15 finished second with some fine displays. They won 2-1 against F.C.Z and 2-0 against T.F.A. in the group stage and 3-1 against E.S.K on penalties in the semi-finals. In the final, they lost 1-0 to E.S. – the goal being scored just before the final whistle.

In the Under-11 category, Valletta also finished second after defeating E.S.S 4-2 and E.S.H.S 4-1 in the group stage. In the semi finals, they beat E.S.K 3-2 but had to fall prey to the best team in the tournament T.F.A – a team who scored 25 goals in the tournament in the final when they lost 4-0.

Meanwhile Valletta FC Youth Nursery would like to advise that they are accepting applications from qualified coaches wanting to join their coaching staff for season 2014/2015.
