Women's national team loses 0-2 to Israel

women-malta-israel140507pzcThe Malta women’s national team lost the sixth game in as many matches from Group 3 of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers, losing 0-2 to Israel at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.

Moran Fridman put the visitors ahead nine minutes from the end of the first half and on the hour, captain Moran Lavi doubled the score.

This was the third win for Israel in the group after beating Malta and Serbia at home.

Malta will now play two games away from home – against Serbia on June 14 and against Iceland on June 19 – before two final matches in September.
