Mgarr United win Women's Under-16 double

mgarr-win-women-under-16-ko2014pzcMgarr United won the Women’s Under-16 Knock-Out after defeating Pembroke Athleta 3-2 on penalties in the final on Sunday.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw as Leanne Micallef put Pembroke ahead on 29 minutes and Patricia Ebejer levelled matters on 48 minutes. In the penalty shoot-out, Annalee Vella and Rachelle Borg scored the two penalties for Mgarr with Leanne Micallef scoring for Pembroke.

Mgarr therefore crowned a memorable season after winning the Women’s Under-16 League, finishing top ahead of Pembroke Athleta.

Tarxien Rainbows, on the other hand, won Section B ahead of Raiders (Luxol).
