Michael Mifsud put Sliema Wanderers ahead as the Blues defeated Hibernians 3-0 in the first match of the Euro Cup Friendly Tournament which kicked-off on Thursday at the Centenary Stadium.

Mifsud was making his return for the Wanderers after an absence of thirteen years during which he played in Germany, Norway and England apart from Valletta and Qormi in Malta.

Nigerian striker Stanley Ohawuchi scored the other two goals for Sliema during the second half.

The tournament continues on Friday with the clash between Valletta and Birkirkara with the remaining fixtures being as follows:
Sunday 22 Sliema Wanderers vs Valletta
Monday 23 Birkirkara vs Hibernians
Wednesday 25 Hibernians vs Valletta
Thursday 26 Sliema Wanderers vs Birkirkara

All matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 19:00.
