Mosta and newly-promoted Pietà Hotspurs will be contesting the final of The Convenience Shop Malta Summer Cup on Sunday after they emerged as winners in the two semi-finals at the Luxol Stadium on Thursday.
In the first semi-final, Balzan FC and Mosta FC shared six goals in a 3-3 draw with the Blues winning 4-3 on penalties.
Bojan Kaljevic put Mosta ahead after just six minutes but Clive Brincat levelled matters on the 20th. Ryan Darmanin made it 2-1 for Balzan with Kaljevic equalising three minutes later by converting a penalty. Edison Bilbao Zarate restored the lead for Balzan with another penalty on 76 minutes but James Brincat notched the equaliser on the 90th.
In the penalty shoot-out, Mosta emerged as winners to secure a place in the final.
In the second semi-final, a goal but Malcolm Licari on the 77th minute enabled Pietà Hotspurs to beat Zebbug Rangers 1-0.
On Sunday, Zebbug take on Balzan in the final for third place, kick-off at 18:30. The final between Mosta and Pietà kicks-off at 20:30.
