The transfer market closed on Monday evening with the signing of a number of foreign players by Premier League clubs, namely Birkirakra, Valletta, Sliema Wanderers and Zebbug Rangers.
Birkirkara secured the services of Ukranian striker Vyachelav Shevchenko. The twenty-nine year old had been playing for Lokomotiv Tashkent after playing for PFC Oleksandria. Meanwhile the club released Joseph Zerafa who is set to continue his career abroad.
Valletta signed Brazilian striker Alex Terra. The thirty-one year old played for Melbourne Heart in Australia and Daejon in South Korea after playing for Fluminese and Bahia in Brazil.
Italian forward Filippo Talato joined Sliema Wanderers on a one-year deal. The 22-year old played for a number of clubs in lauding Padova, Monza and Castiglione.
Serbian striker Bojan Mamic joined Zebbug Rangers. Mamic had already played in Malta for Mqabba in the Premier League a few years ago. Meanwhile Zebbug have released Scottish striker Craig Beattie.
