BOV Premier League resumes this weekend

The BOV Premier League will be back this weekend after a break due to the senior national team’s commitments in Slovakia and Croatia. On Saturday, Birkirkara and Mosta chase their fourth win as they take on Balzan and Naxxar Lions respectively.

Pietà Hotspurs face Floriana and Sliema Wanderers meet Qormi in the other two matches.

Pietà Hotspurs vs Floriana, kick-off 16:00 at National Stadium
After earning a point in a draw with Tarxien, Pietà target a second positive result as they face a Floriana side who also claimed just one point from their first three outings.

The Hotspurs welcome back Rafael Xavier after serving a two-match ban. Floriana, on the other hand, may have Senegalese striker Amadou Samb making his debut.

Naxxar Lions vs Mosta, kick-off 18:00 at National Stadium
Mosta aim to maintain their perfect record with a win over rivals Naxxar Lions. The Blues defeated Valletta, Pietà and Zebbug in their first three outings and another win on Saturday would ensure they stay at the top of the BOV Premier League table.

Naxxar, on the other hand, are chasing their first win after earning a point in a draw with Balzan, losing the other two matches.

For Mosta, Pedrinho should make his debut after serving a three-match ban. They may also have other new faces after signing Lo Youssou and Go Nagaoka.

Sliema Wanderers vs Qormi, kick-off 16:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Sliema and Qormi both target a morale-boosting win as their campaign so far was far from impressing. Sliema claimed two points in two draws while Qormi won one of the three matches played.

The Blues could not count on the injured Alex Muscat and the suspended Beppe Muscat. Mauricio Mazzetti is injured for Qormi.

Balzan vs Birkirkara, kick-off 18:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Balzan will be aiming at extending their unbeaten run after collecting seven points from the first three matches against a Birkirkara side which claimed maximimum points thanks to wins over Pietà, Zebbug and Naxxar.

The Stripes could not count on Edmond Agius and Gareth Sciberras. Dylan Grima is ruled out injured for Balzan.
