Gudja United registered another comfortable win in the BOV First Division as they beat Mqabba 5-1 in one of the four matches in programme on Sunday.
A brace by Adrian Carabott on the 2nd and the 8th paved the way for Gudja who increased the lead through a brace by Angelo Catania on the 16th and three minutes in added time in the first half. Peter Paul Sammut made it 5-0 one minute from time with Guilherme de Soares Freitas scoring a consolation goal for Mqabba on the 90th.
Pembroke Athleta rescued a point in a 1-1 draw with Fgura United thanks to a goal by Lucky Omerou two minutes from time after Ryan Previ had put Fgura ahead after just three minutes.
Vittoriosa Stars scored four in the second half to beat St. Andrews 4-0. Vittorio di Maggio converted a penalty ten minutes in the second half and Mark Barbara doubled the score on 67 minutes. David Mitogo Garcia increased the lead a minute later before adding a fourth goal eight minutes from time.
A goal by David Zammit on 73 minutes gave Zurrieq a narrow win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s.
