San Gwann kept the pace with leaders Hamrun Spartans as they beat Dingli Swallows 3-1 in one of the six BOV Second Division matches in programme on Saturday.
Shawn Vella was the hero for San Gwann as he put them ahead on 32 minutes and after Dylan Camenzuli equalised on the 72nd, he scored twice on 81 and 92 minutes to hand San Gwann the three points.
Senglea Athletic, on the other hand, lost 1-2 to Sirens. Senglea took the lead through Terence Scerri after just four minutes but Lee Joe Schembri levelled matters on the 32nd and Ryan Sciberras notched the winner on 69 minutes.
Xghajra Tornados collected their first three points as they beat Mellieha 1-0 thanks to a goal by Royter Degiorgio on 25 minutes.
Zabbar St. Patrick scored twice in added time to rescue a point from the game against Ghaxaq. The latter seemed heading for victory after Lizio Grech put the ahead on 49 minutes and Warren Zerafa doubled the score on 58 minutes. Samuel Buhagiar reduced the gap on the 93rd minute and a minute later, Andrew Formosa notched the equaliser.
Zejtun Corinthians registered a second consecutive win as they beat Marsa 1-0 with a goal by Udojah Ekele on the 13th minute.
Swieqi United came back from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Siggiewi. Kim Buhagiar and Francois Guihard put Siggiewi ahead with goals on 29 and 32 minutes but a brace by Jonathan Briscoe White on 42 and 66 minutes levelled matters for Swieqi.
Hamrun lead the way with 19 points, followed by San Gwann on 18, Senglea 15, Gharghur 13, Zabbar 12, Sirens, Mellieha and Zejtun 10, Swieqi 9, Marsa 8, Siggiewi 5, Ghaxaq 4, Dingli and Xghajra 3.
