Pieà and Qormi, Mosta and Tarxien Rainbows will all be all out to return to winning ways in two clashes at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
The two matches which were due to be played at the Hibernians Stadium between Balzan and Hibernians, Birkirkara and Floriana have been postponed once again.
Pietà Hotspurs vs Qormi, kick-off 14:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
After losing heavily to Naxxar Lions, Pietà Hotspurs hope to bounce back with a positive result against Qormi. The defeat to Naxxar and eventually Naxxar’s win over Sliema means that the Hotspurs are now second from bottom, trailing Naxxar by two points.
On the other hand, after three consecutive wins, Qormi dropped two points in a draw in the derby against Zebbug Rangers. A win on Sunday could possibly put them alone in fourth place.
Qormi’s Zoran Levnajic and Gillmore Azzopardi and Pietà’s Dylan Agius are ruled out through suspension.
Mosta vs Tarxien Rainbows, kick-off 16:15 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
Care-taker coach Peter Smith hopes to put Mosta back on track after the Blues suffered five consecutive defeats – the last being last week’s 0-5 defeat to Hibernians. Five defeats which saw Mosta fall from fifth to joint-sixth. Tarxien, on the other hand, are eager to bounce back after two draws to Hibernians and Floriana and a defeat to Qormi in their last three outings. They are currently one point behind Mosta.
Tarxien welcome back goalkeeper Sean Cini after serving a one-match ban but Mosta’s Ryan Grech is still ruled out through suspension.
