Siggiewi created the biggest surprise of the FXDD Futsal First Division when they beat leaders Mellieha 5-1 at the Corradino Pavillion.

Mellieha, unbeaten in their eight outings, were astonished by Siggiewi’s abrupt attacks who scored five goals without reply. James Borg scored a brace while Matthew Debono, Glenn Gauci and Philip Caruana Turner grabbed the goals for Siggiewi. Robert Magro reduced the score for the northerners.

Luqa St. Andrew’s climbed fourth in the table when they beat Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 5-2. On the other hand, Attard and Mqabba shared the spoils in an entertaining 4-4 draw.

Sirens returned to winning ways when they saw off Mdina Knights 7-3 while Msida St. Joseph registered their second consecutive win when they beat Qrendi 3-0.
