St. George’s moved fourth in the BOV First Division as a brace by Gabriel Okechukwu enabled them to beat joint-leaders Melita 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday. For Melita, this was the second defeat in four matches, missing the opportunity to take sole leadership.
Okechukwu put Patrick Curmi’s side ahead on 58 minutes and then doubled the score on 65 minutes.
St. Andrews and Melita lead the way with 19 points, followed by Pembroke on 17, Gudja and St. George’s 16, Vittoriosa and Lija 15, Mqabba and Fgura 13, Gzira and Msida 10, Zurrieq 9, Rabat 8 and Birzebbuga 1.
