Vittoriosa Stars joined St. Andrews, Gudja United and Melita at the top of the BOV First Division table as a brace by Michael Camilleri gave them a 2-0 win over Melita. The Stars therefore bounced back from the disappointing 3-3 draw with Birzebbuga last week. Melita, on the other hand, suffered a second consecutive defeat and a third defeat in the last five matches.
Camilleri put Vittoriosa ahead ten minutes in the second half and doubled the score on 77 minutes.
In another match, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s earned another point as they held Mqabba in a goalless draw.
Gudja, Vittoriosa, St. Andrews and Melita lead the way with 19 points, followed by Lija on 18, Pembroke 17, St. George’s 16, Fgura, Mqabba and Rabat 14, Gzira 13, Zurrieq and Msida 10 and Birzebbuga 3.
