Birzebbuga St. Peter’s registered their first win in the BOV First Division as a goal by Keith Muscat on the 31st minute enabled them to beat Rabat Ajax 1-0.
Although they still lie at the bottom of the table, Birzebbuga move to just four points behind Zurrieq who are second from bottom. Rabat, on the other hand, are still tenth.
Meanwhile Gudja United kept the pace with leaders Pembroke Athleta as they defeated Lija Athletic 2-0 thanks to goals by Ryan Cauchi and Angelo Catania. Gudja therefore re-join St. Andrews on 22 points.
Pembroke lead the way with 26 points, followed by Gudja and St. Andrews on 25, Vittoriosa 22, St. George’s and Melita 20, Fgura and Gzira 19, Lija 18, Rabat 17, Mqabba 14, Msida 13, Zurrieq 10 and Birzebbuga 6.
