San Gwann defeated Hamrun Spartans 2-0 in a top-of-the-table clash in the BOV Second Division to move four points clear.
An own goal four minutes from the end of the first half paved the way for San Gwann who doubled the score on 77 minutes through Alan Borg.
Zejtun Corinthians registered a fourth win in five matches as a goal by Neil Tabone three minutes in the second half enabled them to beat Zabbar St. Patrick 1-0.
Dingli Swallows returned to winning ways as they beat Xghajra Tornados 3-0. Alex Pedrozo put Dingli ahead on the 12th, Joshua Sciarrino doubled the score on 62 minutes and Pedrozo sealed the issue with a third goal on the 90th.
Marsa and Gharghur shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Ronnie Celeste put Marsa ahead on the 14th with Bjorn Chetcuti equalising three minutes in the second half. Elland Vella made it 2-1 for Marsa ten minutes later but four minutes from time, Muda Fagbeja restored equilibrium.
Senglea Athletic defeated Siggiewi 3-2.Stephane Tape put Siggiewi ahead twice – on the 8th and on the 24th, after Timmy Thomas had equalised on the 19th. Hubert Vella made it 2-2 on the 45th. Timmy Thomas however notched the winner to hand Senglea the three points.
Ryan Sciberras gave Sirens a narrow win on Ghaxaq in another match.
San Gwann lead the way with 35 points, followed by Hamrun on 31, Zabbar 27, Senglea and Zejtun 25, Gharghur 20, Swieqi and Sirens 19, Siggiewi and Mellieha 18, Marsa 16, Dingli 12, Ghaxaq and Xghajra 5.
